No Dental Insurance? No problem!

Our practice offers an in-house dental plan for a nominal membership fee. Our goal is to help you make your dental visits more affordable so you can get the quality dental care you want and need. Our very own in-house plan will provide you with tremendous savings. This reduced-fee dental plan allows individuals or families to receive all the available dental services at Eagle Mountain Family Dental for a percentage discount off the office’s regular fees.

The Dental Savings Plan is a membership savings plan and is designed to be an affordable alternative to dental insurance with an emphasis on prevention without all the red tape such as co-pays, yearly maximums, waiting periods, pre-determinations, explanation of benefits statements, claims denials, and other insurance games that we (the provider and the patient) are often forced to play with insurance companies.

Dental Savings Plan FAQs

Q: Is this dental insurance?
A: No, this is not an insurance product.

Q: I don’t have dental insurance but I want the security of knowing I have a plan both for prevention of dental disease and in case unexpected circumstances arise in my oral health and appearance. Can the Dental Savings Plan help me prevent problems and give me the peace of mind in case my teeth break or I get an infection?
A: Yes, these were the primary reasons the Dental Savings Plan was developed. It is a plan for those without insurance with an emphasis on prevention but peace of mind in case you need and/or want dental work.

Q: I have dental insurance. Can I use my insurance plan and the Dental Savings Plan together?
A: No, your dental insurance cannot be used together with the Savings Plan. Depending on the particulars of your dental insurance policy, however, you may find that the Dental Savings Plan is a better deal for you.

Q: I have dental insurance and I like my plan. Will you still file my insurance like you always have even if I am not a member of the Savings Plan?
A: Yes, of course we will. As a courtesy to you the patient, we still believe it is a valuable service to you to electronically file your claim and accept assignment of your benefits, plus, your portion of the cost of treatment. If you feel your insurance plan is better than our Dental Savings Plan, we will do our best to maximize your benefits according to the contractual details of your plan just like we always have, if your plan qualifies.

Q: I found dental insurance through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and healthcare.gov and I’ve come to realize that for what I have to pay in premiums, it doesn’t cover much to help me with my dental care. Can the Dental Savings Plan help me afford to keep my teeth healthy and happy better than my plan through the ACA?
A: Most likely, yes.

Q: I have dental insurance provided through my employer (or my spouse’s employer).. Will the Dental Savings Plan save me more money than my employer provided dental insurance?
A: It depends. Your dental plan is a form of compensation your employer provides. You can expect the carrier (the insurance company) to reimburse you for a portion of the dental fee. That portion and the freedom of the plan are determined by the contract between your employer and the insurance company. The higher the premium paid by your employer (and you), the more generous the reimbursement. And obviously, the opposite is true. If your plan does not have that generous of a reimbursement, the Dental Savings plan may be a better deal for you and give you more freedom in your dental treatment choices.

Q: Will the Dental Savings Plan cover me for dental needs with a specialist or hospital?
A: No. The Dental Savings Plan covers preventative dental services and provides savings for most procedures at the office of Dr. Kyle Reeves only.

Q: How long does it take to begin taking advantage of the membership in the Dental Savings Plan?
A: Once your membership plan is activated by signing the simple Dental Savings Plan Agreement and your annual membership premium is paid in full, you receive access to all membership benefits and savings immediately and will be appointed to the first available time slot that works with your schedule.

Q: Is the Dental Savings Plan membership premium tax deductible?
A: You need to consult your tax advisor to make sure that it is tax deductible for your particular situation.

Q: Does the Dental Savings Plan cover all dental cleanings (Part 1)?
A: No, it does not cover all dental cleanings you may need or want, but for a very high percentage of people the Dental Savings Plan does cover all the dental cleanings needed. For example, many people only need two prophylaxis dental cleanings per year to help prevent dental problems, and two preventative dental cleanings are covered in the Dental Savings Plan. Therefore, for people that have no periodontal disease and only need two preventative cleanings per year, they have no out of pocket expense for two preventative cleanings per year according to the membership agreement. If these people need or want more preventative cleanings than twice per year, they receive a 20% discount for additional preventative cleanings beyond the two free ones according to the membership plan.

Q: Does the Dental Savings Plan cover all dental cleanings (Part 2)?
A: If you’re one of the 50% of Americans that have some form of periodontal disease, then preventative cleanings will not be sufficient for your oral health. You will need more involved treatment that will include a deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) or a more advanced periodontal procedure such as LANAP (Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure) followed by periodontal maintenance cleanings 3-4 times per year. A periodontal maintenance cleaning is not the same procedure as a preventative cleaning. A preventative cleaning (prophylaxis) is just that—for prevention in the absence of periodontal disease. A periodontal maintenance cleaning is for maintenance of health after periodontal disease has occurred and been treated. And while, from the patient’s perspective, both types of cleanings may be similar, the work involved, the frequency needed, the record keeping, and the instrumentation used is different and more tedious for a periodontal maintenance cleaning. Therefore, periodontal maintenance cleanings are more costly to provide for and receive. But the Dental Savings Plan does provide benefit for those with periodontal disease. The benefit is a 40% discount off periodontal maintenance cleanings. For example, at current rates, instead of paying around $116 without a Dental Savings Plan membership for a periodontal maintenance cleaning plus exam and x-ray fees, you will only have to pay about $70 for each periodontal maintenance cleaning you need including exam and check up x-rays with the membership-- while all at the same time receiving access to member discounts if you need other dental work, such as crowns or a fillings.

Q: What if I’m already a patient of Dr. Reeves with no insurance and always pay out of pocket for everything and I want to join the Dental Savings Plan, what must I do?
A: Sign the simple membership Agreement, pay the annual membership premium in full, and if you already have a scheduled check up and cleaning appointment, keep that appointment and begin to enjoy the savings and membership benefits. If you don’t already have an appointment, call us and we’ll get you one as quickly as possible.
